Immersive video report by Condition ONE !! This brings new perspectives to storytelling…

The Libyan desert near Ras Lanouf. March, 2011.

Photojournalist Patrick Chauvel brings us this immersive video from the rebels' front lines. "It's a very sad story," he says. "These guys are students, they're hairdressers, they're bakers, bankers, philosophers, teachers. They are no military."

I hope to see more footage like this !! Not only war actions… but, I must say that I admire this videojournalist…

Many applications possible !! Immersive video technologies + iPad is definitely something I will look deeply into…

This brought me to tears !! And, gave strength to my belief that iPad is a revolutionary device !!

From The New York Times ( their video section is wonderful… ). I watched this video on their iPad app. !! This really moved me deeply and made my awareness of iPad revolution even more accurate… Yes, this story is not about the iPad, it is about giving a "window" on life to a disabled baby which, eventually, gives a little ( or very much, depends on how you feel about all this !! ) sense to his life and his parents aswell !!

"Intelligent" mini-drone… this is just the beginning.!!

This video is both thrilling and exciting... I'm feeling a bit of anxiety when I realize that this mini-drone embeds some basic ultra-skilled capabilities very close to basic spatial and protection "intelligence"…

Let's see where all that goes... let's be enthusiasts... but let's be vigilant... Nope ??

Going Vertical before going down... the art of being upside (down)right...!!

Very clever post from Jesse Rosten... Going "vertical", surfing the wave ( or in the wake, for those who are going to be late on that... ) of the iPad and other upcoming tablets is an exciting challenge for movie makers and story tellers...!!

This is an interesting perspective that'll bring new ways, new feelings, new techniques to an aging industry... Tooling a most welcome "convergence" with other expression and creation arts...!!

Vertical framing ( portrait ) is already part of a photographer's palette of techniques to convey special meanings with a picture...!! When it comes to landscape, this is - though - quite unusual as horizontal ( landscape ) framing is primarily used for scenic vistas but portrait framing is, hence, worth digging into it...!!

In this related post, Jesse Rosten provides an example of "Mag Cover" where lots of overhead is provided in the picture framing for adding texts and graphical elements... just like in press photography...!!

Creation of interactive magazines content ( covers, but also inner pages !! ) will tremendously change and bring exciting opportunities for true multimedia ( say, transmedia ?? ) creators, editors, redactors... etc...

Nice, challenging and exciting times ahead...
